What is this programme?

This is a unique rigorous multidisciplinary broad-based 2-year programme in foundations of mathematical modeling, computation & simulation. A mix of applied math, stat, and computing. Consists of core & elective courses and a full-semester internship.

Eligibility & selection

BE/BTech (any branch of engineering) OR MSc with valid GATE score. Students who do not have adequate background in mathematics (e.g., those admitted directly into the second year of BE/BTech through the Diploma route) are likely to find this programme difficult to cope with. Selection via entrance test with the following structure:
  • Section A: Mathematics, aptitude, logic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Section B: GRE-style MCQs designed to test your
    • computing, programming, algorithmic, logic, and problem-solving skills; and
    • mathematics background approximately equivalent to Savitribai Phule Pune University engineering mathematics curricula.
